More Michelin-starred outlets in Macau casino sector

The number of Michelin-starred restaurants based at Macau casino resorts has increased in the 2025 edition of the “Michelin Guide Hong Kong Macau” relative to the year before.

The annual list of starred restaurants was announced on Wednesday, with four restaurants newly awarded one Michelin star, and one eatery promoted to two stars. One outlet was left out of this year’s guide as it is currently closed.

The new edition of the guide was announced at a ceremony at Grand Lisboa Palace in Cotai, a resort promoted by casino firm SJM Holdings Ltd. The new rundown features 19 restaurants in Macau, up from 16 in the previous year.

For the Michelin Guide Hong Kong Macau 2025, the three-star Macau restaurants remain Jade Dragon at City of Dreams, a Melco Resorts & Entertainment Ltd property; and French-cuisine outlet Robuchon au Dôme, located at downtown’s Grand Lisboa Hotel, also run by SJM Holdings.

Chinese restaurant Chef Tam’s Seasons was promoted to a two-star rating in this year’s edition of the Michelin Guide Hong Kong Macau, after earning its first star in the 2024 edition. The restaurant is led by chef Tam Kwok Fung at Wynn Palace, a property promoted by Wynn Macau Ltd.

Macau’s other two-star eateries in this year’s guide are: The Huaiyang Garden, located at The Londoner Macao, a resort run by Sands China Ltd; The Eight, a Chinese restaurant at Grand Lisboa; Alain Ducasse at Morpheus, in City of Dreams; Feng Wei Ju at StarWorld Hotel, a Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd property; and Wing Lei, at the Wynn Macau complex.

Last year’s guide featured Japanese restaurant Mizumi at Wynn Macau. That outlet “is currently closed until further notice,” according to Wynn Macau Ltd.

Aji (pictured), headed by Singaporean chef Pan Sihui, has earned one Michelin star in this year’s edition of the Michelin Guide Hong Kong Macau. The outlet is located at MGM Cotai, a property of MGM China Holdings Ltd.

Also debuting on this year’s list with a one-star rating are Japanese restaurant Mizumi, at Wynn Palace; Zuicho at The Karl Lagerfeld hotel, in the Grand Lisboa Palace resort run by SJM Holdings; and Sushi Kissho by Miyakawa, at Raffles at Galaxy Macau, a complex run by Galaxy Entertainment.

The other seven restaurants with one Michelin star in Macau are: 8 1/2 Otto e Mezzo – Bombana, and Lai Heen at the Ritz-Carlton, Macau, within Galaxy Macau; Sichuanese restaurant Five Foot Road at MGM Cotai; Pearl Dragon, at Melco Resorts’ Studio City; Ying at Altira Macau, and Sushi Kinetsu at City of Dreams, two properties run by Melco Resorts; and Zi Yat Heen at the Four Seasons Macao, a Sands China venue.

The full selection of this year’s edition of the Michelin Guide features 54 restaurants in Macau, encompassing 11 Bib Gourmand outlets and 24 ‘selected’ food establishments. There is also one ‘Green Star’ restaurant from Macau listed in the guide.
