eTap Empowers Filipino Riders with Convenient Digital Payments

eTap Solutions, a subsidiary of Electronic Transfer & Advance Processing, Inc. (eTap), is expanding its digital payments services to better serve the increasing number of motorcycle couriers in the country. The company aims to enhance financial accessibility and efficiency for riders, who play an essential role in the logistics and delivery sector.

With over 4,000 self-service kiosks nationwide, eTap has observed a surge in riders using its digital payments machines for top-ups, bill payments, and remittances. According to Fairwork Philippines, more than 40,000 Grab Food and Grab Express riders operate in the country. The Land Transportation Office (LTO) also reports that 160,000 new motorcycles are registered each month, indicating continuous industry growth.

Carlo HernandezeTap Solutions President and CEO Carlo Hernandez noted that many couriers, including those from Shopee Xpress, Grab, and Foodpanda, now prefer digital remittance to manage their earnings efficiently. He highlighted that using eTap kiosks eliminates common issues such as long queues and restricted banking hours.

To further support riders, eTap operates an exclusive online community with over 3,500 members, offering assistance, updates, and loyalty rewards. The company has also partnered with more than 400 retail stores. These include DALI, O!Save, Alfamart, AllDay, Generika, and Julie’s Bakeshop, to provide accessible financial services near key rider locations.

As the demand for motorcycle couriers continues to rise, eTap is focused on developing secure and convenient payment solutions tailored to their needs. This move aligns with broader digital payment trends in the country. It is where seamless financial services are becoming increasingly essential for gig economy workers.
